The JACK FILES

My darling nephew is now in pre-school.

He loves it. He gets to play, do art projects, do worksheets, have snacks - it's good times. (If only work could be like this).

The other day my sister went to pick him up, and noticed he had a new painting in his cubby to take home. She took out the green construction paper with blue and red blobs. Her baby is a true artiste.

On the back the teacher transcribes for the student what it is they are trying to convey to their public. The project goal, the artists vision, the chance to explain what the hell it is we're looking at.

Apparently this masterpiece can be entitled: "Bad guys in a boat - lots of blood"

When questioned later as to "where did the blood come from Jack?" The artist cooly replied, "From the Vampires"

Well I mean come on - it is kind of obvious - where else would blood come from?! Duh!

To which my optomistic sister surmised, "Well at least he isn't drawing pictures of himself in a dress singing, 'I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts.'"
