This morning was a good morning.
I slept through all of it. I managed to rouse myself by noon, put on pants, wash my face and head over to Joey D's for some Chicago style dogs, fries, and cheese curds. (No bra tho because it's the Lord's Day)
It's true - cheese curds = the breakfast of champions.
I love this restaurant. It's small - family owned, out of the way tucked in south Minneapolis, and the best hot dogs. I've gone there enough now that they know who I am.
I've joked with The Boy that if he and I ever dumb enough to marry each other - they are totally going to cater for us. I am starting to think no matter who I marry it's going to be catered by Joey D's.
Today I sat down to eat my breakfast and they have the Vikings on TV. God life is good! Dog - curds, and football!
Sometimes even ugly girls can be popular. Allow me to explain. There are certain dive bars I enjoy going to. They are cheap, low-key and I'm an odds on favorite to be one of the better looking girls there. That's generally not the case for me.
Which is not to say I'm not cute - I just know I'm not all that hot. So any advantages I work in my favor will be capitalized upon.
I have noticed at Joey D's I am one of the few girls there. It's mostly a boy restaurant. Today was no exception. Me and one other girl were the only ones of the female persuasion. The ten other people in the restaurant all boys.
All actively watching the Vikings.
As was I. It was a nice little moment. All of us in our little booths - collectively cooing over interceptions, wincing at a fumble, stuffing our faces with grease. And I was the only girl who was into the football as much as the boys.
Call it the clarity of a Chi Dog - but I realized I am one hell of a catch. Not many girls would relish relish for breakfast, enjoy talking trash to a flickering box at refs who cannot hear me, or appreciate a gooey cheese curd without whining "I'll start my diet tomorrow".
Goddamnit I am a cool girl!
