I will fully admit I'm a nerd...I used to think I was just a socially awkward dork, but no. I am full on nerd.
I have recently developed the nerdery habbit of PC gaming - and doing so on-line. It's like crack! However, I've never let myself get REALLY involved. I was never going to trick out my computer just to game...that would mean I had a problem. I was just a recreational gamer. Those gamer junkies I saw, strong out on WoW, they weren't me. I never talked about the Molten Core or attunement issues...that wasn't me man.
Sure, maybe I blew off some social interaction to game instead, and maybe I rushed home from work a little too eagerly to log on, but that was only at first. I'm experienced now and I can handle my game. I could quit anytime I wanted. I only really gamed socially when my other friends were gaming too.
Ok, I guess I did game once or twice on my own. But never in excess...
Ok well I did have a few days of binge gaming - but real full on nerd gamers; nah that's not me!
Last night Gabe took me out to buy a video card to amp up my graphics and gameplay. I thought - it's ok, I don't need anything special.
He's like my dealer now. He's moved me on to something a little stronger. But I can still quit anytime I want.
I can!!
If you've ever wondered what gamer nerd smells like - it's a bit of a dorito boquet with a mingling of warm plastic, and a slight B.O. after waft. I think I smelled it in my apartment last night.
Either that or I need to take the trash out...
