Jeune Lune Owns My Bones

So for those of you who are out-state readers, there is a little theater company called, Theatre de'la Jeune Lune. That's right, it's French...deal!

Anyway. Their space is this giant warehouse. Everytime I have gone there the stage is in a new place with different seating. It's every theater dorks wet dream to have a space like that to play in.

They have about 5 actors who show up in all their productions. Really talented folks. Anything Shakespeare they touch is golden! They had the BEST production of 12th Night I have ever seen! I nearly wet myself I was laughing so hard.

Last night I went to see The Ballroom. It was about a smalltown ballroom and different little scenes from different eras through this century. It was very fun. And typical Jeune style, just political enough to make you think "hmm" and giggle to yourself.

They always have productions that are vivid. You'll be pondering them, and want to talk about them for a few days later. And even weeks later you'll still find yourself haunted.

I'm still not totally sure what to make of the production I saw last night. I am still working through a few scenes. I love it tho. This much I do know.

Theater that entertains and causes ponderances is always a beautiful thing.

Unlike Musicals. Bleh! Oklahoma indeed!!
